terrible, horrible, no good...
very bad, FRIDAY...
our dryer has to run 3 times to dry a load of laundry.
subsequently, i had to wake up at 2 am to switch out the laundry.
and i was really sleeping good too.
my face hurts. (it's killing me too... hardy har har, my dad's terrible jokes never escape me.)
it is red and puffy and stingy and hurty.
i do not know why.
i was pulled over this morning on my way to work.
he had me sitting there for 15 minutes. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. from 6:28 to 6:43.
i got a written warning. he didn't laugh at my jokes.
i had no time to stop for starbucks. and i was 2 minutes late for work.
boo...
i have forgotten to return our netflix movies for 3 weeks now.
i hate it when i do that.
when i was cleaning last night i happened upon no fewer than 8 cards and packages i prepared to send, but never actually sent.
what the heck is wrong with me?
i hate that i do that.
my face is now getting a fever. the rest of me is chilled, my face is feverish.
i forgot my lunch.
i couldn't find my deodorant this morning (i had to use my husband's, i can't just go walking around like a big stink bug all day)
i am noticing everyone's frowns and loud gruff voices as they walk in the office today
and i am afraid to see what this day becomes...
it is feeling exactly like Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No good, Very bad, Day
only i am an adult.
and not a children's book character.
and i choose not to have a bad day today.
i choose to not let this morning dictate the course of my whole day.
i choose to see light.
i choose to see good.
i choose to hear birds chirping.
i choose to see the sun shine shining.
i choose to be happy today.
even if it would be easier to be happy if my pants weren't sitting so snugly around my waist, and i had time for that starbucks venti quad iced soy latte.
i can be happy if i choose to be.
and i choose to not be alexander.

today blows. if i wasn't working all the way downtown, i would bring you a venti iced soy milk chai at lunch to make you laugh.

well you can use the money you saved not buying coffee and get yourself lunch. and you should be pleased that you only got a warning. i'd sit there for an hour if meant i didn't get a ticket.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you had such a yucky start to the day and I hope by now it's looking up. If all else fails, stop by a dog park on the way home tonight....no one can be grumpy at a dog park! :) And thank you for reminding me of Alexander...that was one of my favorite books to read to my kids when they were little and that thought has kept my blues away all day!
